Pneumatic On-Delay Timers

Part3:

Exp5

  • The Compressor supplies the Circuit with compressed air; it enters the Air Service Unit; which consists basically of air filter (to get rid of dust) and pressure regulator (that keeps the air pressure constant).
  • When the push button is pressed the solenoid S1 will be activated and pressurized air will reach the Pneumatic Time Delay Valve.
  • After the delay time is passed the 4/2 Directional Control Valve will operate in its 2nd position and extend the cylinder.
  • As the cylinder fully extends; limit switch LS1 will operate the valve to its 1st position and the cylinder retracts.
  • This circuit represents the use of pneumatic on-delay timers.
  • The electrical push button and solenoid valve can be simply replaced by pneumatic push button, making the system fully pneumatic.
