Pneumatic On-Delay Timers

The Compressor supplies the Circuit with compressed air; it enters the Air Service Unit; which consists basically of air filter (to get rid of dust) and pressure regulator (that keeps the air pressure constant).
When the push button is pressed the solenoid S1 will be activated and pressurized air will reach the Pneumatic Time Delay Valve.
After the delay time is passed the 4/2 Directional Control Valve will operate in its 2nd position and extend the cylinder.
As the cylinder fully extends; limit switch LS1 will operate the valve to its 1st position and the cylinder retracts.
This circuit represents the use of pneumatic on-delay timers.
The electrical push button and solenoid valve can be simply replaced by pneumatic push button, making the system fully pneumatic.
