Objective:
Preparation a specimen for micro-examination by carrying out the following steps:
- Grinding and polishing the specimen.
- Etching the polished mirror-finished surface of a specimen to reveal its structure.
- Using the metallurgical microscope.
- Examining the structure of the specimen under the microscope.
Introduction:
In preparing a specimen for micro-examination, it must have a surface produced, which is flat, and scratch free.
