Fanuc LR Mate 200i is a 5-degree of freedom industrial robot that is commonly used for various purposes such as machine tending, material handling, packing, assembly, and also for education.
In this Laboratory Project, at Bochum University of Applied Sciences in Germany, this Robot was programmed to measure the lengths of 9 pieces and sort them accordingly. 
It takes the robot around 52 seconds to do the task. which was considered the best among all other groups. 
To do this task, the robot has used a sensor for measuring the pieces legths as shown in the figure below.
